Take orders on WhatsApp, with payment links or cash on delivery
Your team builds an order inside the WhatsApp conversation, sends it with a payment link or as cash on delivery, and follows it to paid, fulfilled or cancelled. With your Facebook business connected, you can also create a WhatsApp catalog in RelayPlus and send its products in the chat.
Build an order inside the WhatsApp chat
To take an order on WhatsApp, an agent builds it inside the conversation from the products your Shopify store brings into RelayPlus, or from items typed in, with a shipping fee, a discount and a note.
The customer gets one WhatsApp message with the order number, each item, the total, and either a payment link or a cash on delivery note. A customer whose contact language is Arabic gets that message in Arabic.
Orders and payment links go out on WhatsApp only, while the conversation's 24-hour window is open. A payment link needs a connected payment gateway that takes the order's currency; cash on delivery needs no gateway.
Follow each order to paid, fulfilled or cancelled
An order sent with a payment link turns paid by itself when the customer pays; only a cash on delivery order is marked paid by hand. If a payment link expires or fails, an agent can send the customer a new link for the same order total.
Your team can mark an order fulfilled or cancel it with a reason, and the order keeps a history of who did what and when. Cancelling does not refund a payment.
Marking an order fulfilled or cancelled sends the customer nothing by itself. A rule can message the customer when an order made in RelayPlus is sent, paid, fulfilled or cancelled, using its number, total and items.
WhatsApp order management on one Orders page
The Orders page lists orders made in RelayPlus beside your store's orders, with filters and a search by order number, customer name or phone.
Each customer's orders appear on their contact, with the three newest in the conversation's side panel and the full list on the contact's Orders tab.
Store orders come from a connected store and open in that store, and RelayPlus does not change them. The store and payment connectors page covers which stores and payment gateways connect.
Create a WhatsApp catalog for your business and send its products
With your Facebook business connected, you can create a catalog in RelayPlus, put it on your WhatsApp number, and add products from your Shopify store or through a form.
Products reach the catalog when someone adds them; a change in your store does not reach the catalog by itself.
Once the catalog is on your number, agents can send one product from it, or a list of up to 30 products in up to 10 sections, as a WhatsApp product message from the inbox while the 24-hour window is open.
Who on your team takes orders, in English and Arabic
Org owners, workspace admins, team leads and agents can make and send orders, an agent in conversations assigned to them or not yet assigned. Org owners, workspace admins and marketers set up the WhatsApp catalog.
Developers and finance admins can see orders but change nothing, and connecting your Facebook business is for org owners and workspace admins.
Your team can run orders and the catalog in Arabic, right to left.
How it works
Build the order
In the WhatsApp conversation, pick from the products your Shopify store brings in or type the items, and add a shipping fee, a discount and a note.
Send it
Send it with a payment link or as cash on delivery while the conversation's 24-hour window is open. The customer gets it as one WhatsApp message.
Follow it through
An order sent with a payment link turns paid when the customer pays. Mark the order fulfilled, or cancel it with a reason.
Questions people ask
Can I take orders on WhatsApp without an online store?
Yes. An agent can type the items into an order, and an order sent as cash on delivery needs no payment gateway. Picking from your products needs a Shopify store that brings its products into RelayPlus.
How do I send a payment link on WhatsApp?
Build the order in the WhatsApp conversation and send it with a payment link while the 24-hour window is open. The link needs a connected payment gateway that takes the order's currency, and the order turns paid by itself when the customer pays.
Can I send an order after the 24-hour window closes?
No. Orders and payment links go out on WhatsApp only while the conversation's 24-hour window is open, and there is no template version of an order to send after it closes.
Does the customer get a message when their order is fulfilled?
Only if you set up a rule. Marking an order fulfilled or cancelled sends the customer nothing by itself, but a rule can message the customer when an order made in RelayPlus is sent, paid, fulfilled or cancelled. After the 24-hour window, that message has to be an approved template.
Can I create a WhatsApp catalog and send products in a chat?
Yes. With your Facebook business connected, you can create a catalog in RelayPlus, put it on your WhatsApp number and add products from your Shopify store or through a form. Agents can then send one product, or a list of up to 30 in up to 10 sections, as a WhatsApp product message while the 24-hour window is open.
Does it work in Arabic?
Yes. A customer whose contact language is Arabic gets the order message in Arabic, and your team can run orders and the catalog in Arabic, right to left.
